Dell Vostro 3500 Core I5 4GB/1TB/15.6in UBUNTU Laptop
KSh 71,000
Description
The Dell Vostro 3500 Core i5 with Ubuntu is a 15.6-inch business laptop with a full numeric keypad and an 11th-generation Core i5-1135G7 processor. It ships with Ubuntu Linux rather than Windows, which is why it costs less than an otherwise comparable Windows machine — you are not paying for a Windows licence in the price.
What it works with
Out of the box it runs Ubuntu, with LibreOffice, Firefox, Chrome, Thunderbird and the whole Linux software ecosystem available free. It is a natural fit for developers, and for organisations that work in Google Workspace or other browser-based systems where the operating system underneath barely matters.
If you need Windows, it can be installed — but the licence is a separate cost, so factor that in before comparing prices with a Windows machine. Talk to us and we will give you the honest total.

Who this is for
Developers, students on technical courses, and organisations comfortable with Linux who would rather put the licence saving into hardware. The numeric keypad also makes it a good data-entry machine — anyone working in spreadsheets all day will feel the difference against a 14-inch laptop without one.
Be honest with yourself about the operating system before you buy. If everyone in your office runs Windows and shares files in Microsoft formats, the saving may cost you more in friction than it gains you in price. If that describes you, ask us about the Windows models instead.
Why buy from Trinatech
- Stock held in Nairobi CBD — see it running Ubuntu before you commit.
- Delivery across Kenya including Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret and Mombasa.
- M-Pesa and bank transfer accepted.
- Order over WhatsApp, or walk in at The One Mall, River Road.
Getting the most from this laptop
Run the software updater on first boot; Ubuntu ships with whatever was current when the machine was built, and there will be updates waiting. As with the Vostro 3400 i5, Iris Xe graphics benefit from a second memory stick, so a RAM upgrade is the best value improvement available. Use the Ethernet port at a desk. If you plan to install Windows later, do it before you put your files on the machine, not after.
