Asus X515 Celeron 4GB/256SSD/15.6 Laptop
KSh 39,000
Description
The Asus X515 Celeron with 4GB RAM and a 256GB SSD is an entry-level 15.6-inch laptop built for the everyday jobs that make up most people's computer use — email, browsing, Word and Excel, online classes and streaming. The important thing at this price is the SSD: it is what makes the difference between a machine that boots in seconds and one that makes you wait, and it matters more day to day than the processor name does.
What it works with
The X515 runs Windows and handles Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Zoom, Teams and the browser-based systems most Kenyan businesses now use.
Its port selection covers ordinary office life without an adapter:
- 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C
- 2 x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 1 x HDMI 1.4 — connects to a monitor, TV or projector
- 1 x 3.5mm combo audio jack
- 1 x DC-in
Note there is no Ethernet port, so office networks need Wi-Fi or a USB-to-Ethernet adapter, which we stock. A microSD card reader is fitted on some builds but not all.

Who this is for
Students, first-time buyers, and offices that need a reliable machine for documents and browsing rather than heavy work. Be clear-eyed about the ceiling: the Celeron N4020 is a two-core processor, so it will feel slow if you keep twenty browser tabs open alongside a video call. If your work involves large spreadsheets, photo editing or design software, spend the extra and look at a Core i5 machine instead — we will tell you honestly which side of that line you fall on.

Getting the most from this laptop
Keep at least 20GB free on the SSD; NVMe drives slow down noticeably when they fill up, and 256GB goes faster than people expect once Windows and Office are installed. Move photos and videos to an external drive rather than letting them sit in Downloads. With 4GB of RAM, the single biggest thing you can do for speed is close what you are not using — browser tabs are the usual culprit. Charge it fully before first use and avoid leaving it plugged in at 100% all day every day if you can help it, which is easier on the battery over a couple of years.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I upgrade the RAM later? Some X515 builds have a spare memory slot and some have memory soldered to the board. Bring the machine in or send us the serial number and we will check before you buy anything.
- Does it come with Windows installed? Ask us to confirm the Windows version on current stock — it has shipped with both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Is it good for online classes? Yes. Zoom, Teams and Google Meet run fine. Close other applications while you are on a call.
- Can I connect it to a projector or TV? Yes, through the HDMI port.
- Do you deliver outside Nairobi? Yes — Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Mombasa and countrywide.
