Dell Vostro 3400 Core I3 4GB/1TB/14in Laptop
KSh 55,000
Description
The Dell Vostro 3400 Core i3 is a 14-inch business laptop built for small offices rather than for the shelf at a consumer shop. The Vostro line is Dell's small-business range, and the difference shows in the details that matter in an office — a wired Ethernet port, a TPM security chip, and a chassis under 20mm thick that starts at around 1.59kg.
What it works with
Windows with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, Sage and the accounting and payroll systems in common use in Kenya.
The port selection is unusually complete for a modern 14-inch machine:
- 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 1 x USB 2.0
- 1 x HDMI 1.4 — monitor, TV or projector
- 1 x Ethernet RJ-45 — a wired network port, which most laptops this size no longer have
- 3-in-1 SD media card reader
- Headset jack
- Wedge-shaped lock slot
That Ethernet port is worth pausing on. In an office with a cabled network, or anywhere the Wi-Fi is unreliable, it removes a whole category of problem — and adapters that do the same job cost money and get lost.

Who this is for
Small businesses buying two or three machines for staff, and anyone who wants a business-grade laptop rather than a consumer one at this budget. The 4GB of RAM is the constraint to be aware of — it is enough for documents, email and a reasonable number of browser tabs, and it is not enough for heavy multitasking. Ask us whether the unit you are looking at has a free memory slot; on many Vostro builds it does.
Why buy from Trinatech
- Stock held in Nairobi CBD — see the machine before you buy.
- Delivery across Kenya including Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret and Mombasa.
- M-Pesa and bank transfer accepted.
- Order over WhatsApp, or walk in at The One Mall, River Road.
Getting the most from this laptop
Use the Ethernet port when you are at a desk — it is faster and steadier than Wi-Fi and costs you nothing. ExpressCharge means a short lunchtime charge genuinely gets you most of the way back to full, so you do not need to carry the adapter everywhere. With 4GB of RAM, restart weekly rather than relying on sleep, and keep an eye on how many browser tabs are open — that is where the memory goes. If the 1TB drive is mechanical, leave 15% of it free and shut down properly rather than moving the machine while it is running.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the screen Full HD? Both HD and Full HD panels are used in this model. We will check the specific unit rather than guess.
- Can I add more RAM? Usually yes. Bring the serial number and we will confirm what is fitted and what is free.
- Does it have a wired network port? Yes — a full Ethernet RJ-45 port, which is one of the reasons to choose this over a consumer laptop.
- Which Windows does it ship with? Ask us to confirm on current stock.
- Do you deliver outside Nairobi? Yes — Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Mombasa and countrywide.
