HP GT52 Cyan Ink Bottle (MOH54AE)

The HP GT52 Cyan Ink Bottle (M0H54AE) is the cyan refill for HP's tank printers. It holds 70 ml of dye-based cyan and is rated at up to 8,000 pages, which is why tank machines cost so little to run. There is no chip and no cartridge to discard: you pour the ink straight into the printer's built-in cyan reservoir. Magenta and yellow are sold separately under the same GT52 number.

This is the Original HP bottle. GT52 colour is used across the DeskJet GT, Ink Tank and Smart Tank ranges, which is worth knowing because the black bottle is not: DeskJet GT and Ink Tank models take GT51 black while the Smart Tank range takes GT53. The colours stayed the same across both generations. On tank printers we lean towards genuine ink, since unbranded refill ink is the usual cause of a clogged printhead. Getting the most from this cartridge

• Top up before the tank empties rather than after, because running dry is what draws air into the printhead.
• Fill slowly to the marked line, matching bottle to tank by cap colour so you never cross cyan with magenta.
• Keep the printer level.
• If cyan prints weak while the tank is full, run the printhead cleaning routine and print a nozzle-check page before adding more ink.
