HP 963 Black Ink Cartridge

The HP 963 Black Ink Cartridge (3JA26AE) is the standard-capacity black ink for HP's OfficeJet Pro 9000 series all-in-ones. These are the machines HP built for small offices that print, scan and fax all day, and the 963 black is the cartridge that carries most of that load. Pigment-based ink gives crisp, water-resistant black text on plain paper, rated at approximately 1,000 pages, which is a comfortable month for a small office printing correspondence and invoices.

Genuine or compatible?

This is the Original HP cartridge. One point worth knowing on the OfficeJet Pro 9000 series: HP numbers this cartridge 963 in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and 962 in North America. They serve the same printers but are packaged and chipped for their own regions, and this series is less forgiving about mismatches than the older 8700 machines were. Buy against the number your printer's supply screen displays. Compatible alternatives, including our Royal house brand, are stocked and quoted separately.

Why buy from Trinatech

• The 9000 series is common in Nairobi offices and so are counterfeit cartridges for it.
• At The One Mall on River Road in Nairobi CBD you can inspect the box, the seal and the HP security label at the counter before any money changes hands.
• We hold genuine stock, deliver the same day across Nairobi, ship countrywide by courier, and quote bulk rates for schools, cyber cafés and corporate accounts.
• Call or WhatsApp 0729 589 346.

Getting the most from this cartridge

• Install it straight from the foil pouch and keep your fingers off the copper contacts and the ink outlet.
• Let the printer complete its alignment page instead of cancelling it, since the 9000 series uses that page to calibrate.
• If black output looks faint or striped, run the printhead cleaning cycle from the printer's own menu before swapping the cartridge.
• Store spares upright, cool and out of direct sunlight.

Frequently asked questions

• Is HP 963 the same as HP 962? They fit the same printers but are region-specific numbers, so buy the one your printer's screen asks for.
• What yield does HP 963XL give? About 2,000 pages for black, against roughly 1,000 for this standard cartridge.
• Will the printer work with only the black fitted? No, the OfficeJet Pro 9000 series needs all four cartridges installed.
• Does this fit the OfficeJet Pro 8710? No, that machine uses HP 953, 955 or 952 depending on region.
• Do you stock the matching colours? Yes, HP 963 cyan, magenta and yellow are sold individually.
