HP 953 Black Cartridge High Yield Ink

The HP 953XL High Yield Black Ink Cartridge (L0S70AE) is the large-capacity black ink for HP's OfficeJet Pro 7700 and 8200 to 8700 series. At roughly 2,000 pages it prints more than twice what the standard HP 953 black manages, which brings the cost per page down and cuts the number of times somebody has to stop work and change a cartridge. It uses pigment ink, so black text stays sharp and resists water and highlighter smudging.

Genuine or compatible?

This is the Original HP high-yield cartridge. The XL and the standard HP 953 black are the same size and shape and fit the same printers; the XL simply holds more ink. If your printer currently has a standard 953 in it, the XL will drop straight in. HP also numbers this cartridge family 952 for North America and 955 for Asia-Pacific, so the box in front of you may carry a different number for the same part. Compatible high-yield alternatives, including our Royal house brand, are stocked separately and quoted on request.

Why buy from Trinatech

• High-yield cartridges are the ones most often faked, because the price difference makes counterfeiting worthwhile.
• At our shop at The One Mall on River Road in Nairobi CBD you can check the HP security label and seal before you pay.
• We hold real stock, deliver the same day across Nairobi and countrywide by courier, and price bulk orders for schools, cyber cafés and corporate accounts.
• Call or WhatsApp 0729 589 346 with your printer model.

Getting the most from this cartridge

• If you print more than about 400 pages a month, the XL pays for itself against the standard cartridge on cost per page alone; work that out on your own volumes before deciding.
• Install straight from the foil, keep fingers off the contacts, and let the printer finish its alignment routine rather than cancelling it.
• Where print quality falls off, clean the printhead from the printer menu first, since the printhead on this series is a separate serviceable part.

Frequently asked questions

• Is HP 953XL the same size as HP 953? Yes, identical fit, just more ink inside.
• How many pages does the standard 953 black give? About 900 pages against roughly 2,000 for this XL.
• Will it work in the OfficeJet Pro 8600? No, that older series uses HP 950 and 951.
• Can the printer run on black alone? No, all four cartridges must be installed.
• Do you supply the matching XL colours? Yes, HP 953XL cyan, magenta and yellow are stocked separately.
