HP 950 Black Original Ink Cartridge
KSh 5,000
Description
The HP 950 black ink cartridge is the genuine Original HP replacement, part number CN049AE, for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8100 and 8600 family. At roughly 1,000 pages it is built for a working office rather than occasional printing, which is why these machines earned their place at reception desks and in accounts departments.
Compatible printers
- OfficeJet Pro: 8100, 8600 series, 8610, 8615, 8620, 8625, 8630

Genuine or compatible?
Genuine, Original HP in the sealed box. Not a refill and not our Royal house brand, which is always sold openly as Royal. A note that matters on this family: HP has issued firmware updates that reject non-genuine cartridges on OfficeJet Pro machines, so a compatible that works today may stop working after an update. That is a practical argument for the genuine box on a printer the whole office depends on.

Getting the most from this cartridge
- Fit it as soon as you open the foil and remove the tape from the ink outlet, not the chip.
- This machine uses four separate cartridges, so replace only the one that is empty. That is where the running cost advantage of this range comes from.
- 1,000 pages assumes 5% coverage. Heavy tables, forms and letterheads will bring it down.
- If print quality drops, run the printhead cleaning routine from the front panel before changing cartridges. On this design the printhead is a separate part and is the more common culprit.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a higher-yield version? Yes, HP 950XL fits the same printers and prints substantially more pages.
- Do I need the colours too? Yes for colour printing. The matching colours are HP 951 in cyan, magenta and yellow.
- How soon can I get it? Same day within Nairobi, next working day upcountry.
- Can I return it? Yes, sealed and unused.
- Will HP 950 fit an OfficeJet Pro 8710 or 8720? No. Those newer models take HP 953, which is a different cartridge shape and chip.
