HP Original Toners
HP 78A Black Toner Laserjet (CE278A)
KSh 6,000
Description
The HP 78A black toner cartridge is the genuine Original HP replacement, part number CE278A, for the HP LaserJet Pro P1566, P1606dn and the M1536dnf all-in-one. These compact mono lasers were sold in large numbers to small offices and home businesses, and many are still in daily use. Laser output does not run or fade the way inkjet can, which matters for receipts and records kept in a humid office.

Genuine or compatible?
Genuine, Original HP, sealed box. Not a refill and not our Royal house brand, which we always sell under its own name. This is a heavily counterfeited cartridge because the printers are common and the price point is low enough that people buy without much thought. The signs of a fake are grey rather than black text, toner that rubs off the page and powder leaking into the machine. Ask us and we will quote a compatible openly rather than pass one off as genuine.
Why buy from Trinatech
- Held in Nairobi CBD stock, including for small-office machines other suppliers have dropped.
- Courier delivery countrywide, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu and Mombasa included.
- M-Pesa or bank transfer, with an invoice for your records.
- WhatsApp us the model number, or walk in to The One Mall on River Road.
Getting the most from this cartridge
- Rock the cartridge gently side to side before fitting and remove the sealing strip completely.
- When pages start to fade, take it out and rock it again. On a cartridge this size that reliably buys another fifty pages or so.
- Store spares flat and boxed, away from heat and damp. Toner clumps in humidity and clumped toner streaks.
- 2,100 pages assumes 5% coverage. Forms, receipts and anything with a dark header will fall short.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a higher-yield version? No. HP sells the 78A as a standard-capacity cartridge for this range.
- Do I need a separate drum? No. The drum is built into the cartridge, so both are replaced together.
- How fast is delivery? Same day within Nairobi, next working day to most towns.
- Can I return it? Yes, sealed and unused.
- I have seen this cartridge advertised at 3,000 pages. Which is right? 2,100 pages is HP's figure for the genuine cartridge. The 3,000-page claims belong to non-genuine jumbo-fill products, which is a different thing entirely.
