Worth flagging honestly: HP sells this same cartridge platform under different numbers in different regions, and HP 123 covers some of the same printers with a smaller ink fill. Getting the most from this cartridge
- Install it as soon as the foil is open, and remove only the nozzle tape.
- Press until it clicks. On this printer generation a cartridge that has not seated fully is the usual cause of a not-recognised message.
- 190 pages assumes 5% coverage. Dense reports, forms and anything with a logo block will come in lower.
- If print quality drops, run the printer's clean and align routine twice before writing the cartridge off. Partially clogged nozzles usually recover.

- Do I need the colour cartridge too? Only for colour printing, though most of these models want both fitted before they will run.
