HP 312A Yellow Toner Original Laserjet (CF382A)

The HP 312A yellow toner cartridge is the genuine Original HP replacement, part number CF382A, for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476 series. These are all-in-one colour lasers built for a small office that needs scanning and copying alongside proper colour output. Because the machine also handles copying, the cartridges run down faster than the print counter alone suggests.

Compatible printers

• HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dn
• HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dw
• HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476nw

If your model isn't listed, send us the number from the front of the machine and we'll confirm before you pay.

Specifications

Genuine or compatible?

Genuine, Original HP in the sealed box. Not a refill and not our Royal house brand, which we always sell as Royal. Colour matching is where non-genuine toner shows itself fastest on a four-cartridge machine. If one cartridge uses a slightly different pigment, greens and greys shift across every page and the cause is hard to trace back to a single cartridge. Mixing genuine and compatible cartridges in a colour laser is the most common source of colour complaints we see at the counter.

Getting the most from this cartridge

• Rock the cartridge gently before installing and keep your fingers off the drum surface underneath.
• Store spares boxed and upright, away from heat and direct sunlight. Light degrades the drum coating on a colour laser cartridge.
• At 2,700 pages the colours outlast the black, which yields 2,400. Check all four levels before ordering rather than assuming they empty together.
• 2,700 pages assumes 5% coverage. Presentations with shaded backgrounds and colour headers will bring that down noticeably.

Frequently asked questions

• Is there a higher-yield version? Yes, HP 312X black holds considerably more toner and fits the same printers. The colours are sold as standard capacity only.
• Do I need the other cartridges too? In time yes. The set is black CF380A at 2,400 pages, plus cyan CF381A and magenta CF383A at around 2,700 pages each.
• How fast is delivery? Same day within Nairobi, next working day upcountry.
• Can I return it? Yes, sealed and unused.
• Will the printer stop if one cartridge runs out? On most of these models yes, even for a black-only job, so watch all four levels.
