HP 305 Black Original Ink Cartridge
KSh 2,200
Description
The HP 305 black ink cartridge is the genuine Original HP replacement, part number 3YM61AE, for HP's current compact DeskJet and ENVY all-in-ones. These are the wireless machines most small offices and home setups have bought in the last few years. This is the cartridge they take, and it is the one to keep a spare of.

Genuine or compatible?
Genuine, Original HP, sealed box. Not a refill and not our Royal house brand, which is always sold as Royal. Worth knowing on this generation: these printers check cartridge authenticity in firmware, so counterfeit and heavily refilled cartridges tend to be rejected outright rather than simply printing badly. That makes the genuine box the practical choice as much as the honest one.
Why buy from Trinatech
- Current-generation stock held in the Nairobi CBD, not ordered in on request.
- Courier countrywide, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu and Mombasa included.
- M-Pesa or bank transfer, invoiced for office accounts.
- WhatsApp us the model number, or walk in to The One Mall on River Road.
Getting the most from this cartridge
- Fit it immediately after unwrapping and press down until it clicks. On this generation a cartridge that is not fully seated is the most common cause of a not-recognised error.
- Handle it by the sides. The printhead and contacts are on the underside and both are easily damaged.
- 120 pages at 5% coverage is genuinely low. If you print more than a few pages a day, HP 305XL is the cheaper choice per page.
- Keep the printer powered on rather than switching it off after each job. It runs a cleaning cycle at each start-up, and repeated cycles waste ink.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a bigger version? Yes, HP 305XL fits the same printers and prints roughly two to three times as many pages.
- Do I need the tri-colour too? Yes in practice. These models generally refuse to print unless both cartridges are installed.
- How fast is delivery? Same day in Nairobi, next working day to most towns.
- Can I return it? Yes, if the packaging is sealed and unopened.
- Will my printer reject a refilled cartridge? Often, yes. This generation is much stricter about non-genuine cartridges than the older DeskJets.
