This is a current-generation cartridge, which matters: HP's newer LaserJets check the cartridge chip in firmware, and non-genuine cartridges are frequently rejected outright rather than simply printing poorly. Getting the most from this cartridge
- Rock the cartridge gently before fitting and remove the sealing strip completely before it goes into the machine.
- At 975 pages this is a modest cartridge. If you print more than a ream a month, ask us about the higher-yield option for your exact model before committing to a stocking pattern.
- Keep the printer's firmware settings as they are unless you have a reason to change them. Updates on this generation are what tend to reject non-genuine cartridges mid-job.
- Store spares boxed and out of the sun. A cartridge left on a shelf near a window will underperform when you finally fit it.
