HP 12A Black Original Laserjet Toner Cartridge
KSh 6,000
Description
The HP 12A black toner cartridge is the genuine Original HP replacement, part number Q2612A, and probably the most widely used laser cartridge in Kenya. The LaserJet 1020 and M1005 it serves have been running in offices, schools, clinics and cyber cafes for years, and at 2,000 pages the cartridge is why those machines are still worth keeping.

Genuine or compatible?
Genuine, Original HP in the sealed box. Not a refill and not our Royal house brand, which is always sold as Royal. This is the most counterfeited toner cartridge on the Kenyan market, precisely because the printers are everywhere. A fake announces itself through grey rather than black text, toner that rubs off the page and powder leaking into the machine. On a printer that has already given you ten years, that is a poor trade. Ask us and we will quote a compatible openly.
Why buy from Trinatech
- Held in Nairobi CBD stock, in depth, because this is the cartridge that moves fastest.
- Countrywide courier, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu and Mombasa included.
- M-Pesa or bank transfer, with a proper invoice for office and school accounts.
- WhatsApp the model number from the front of the printer, or walk in to The One Mall on River Road.
Getting the most from this cartridge
- Rock the cartridge gently side to side before fitting to spread the toner, and remove the plastic sealing strip completely.
- When pages start to fade, take it out and rock it again. On this cartridge that reliably buys another fifty to a hundred pages before a genuine replacement is needed.
- Store spares flat, boxed and away from heat and damp. Toner clumps in humidity and clumped toner streaks.
- 2,000 pages assumes 5% coverage. Exam papers, forms and anything with heavy black headers will fall short of that.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a higher-yield version? No. HP sells the 12A as a standard-capacity cartridge; there is no 12X in this range.
- Do I need a separate drum? No. The drum is built into the cartridge, so you replace both together.
- How fast is delivery? Same day within Nairobi, next working day upcountry.
- Can I return it? Yes, sealed and unused.
- Can this cartridge be refilled? Physically yes, and many are. But refilling wears the drum that comes with it, so quality drops with each cycle and a worn drum leaves repeating marks down the page.
