Description
The HP 122 black ink cartridge is the genuine Original HP replacement, part number CH561HE, for the compact DeskJet range that HP sold widely across Kenya. If your DeskJet 1050 or 2050 has stopped mid-invoice, this is the part. It uses pigment black ink, which is the right choice for documents that get handled, filed and read years later.

Genuine or compatible?
Genuine. Original HP in the sealed box, not a refill and not our Royal house brand. One point worth knowing: HP sells the 122 only into Africa, the Middle East and the CIS. A box marked for another region is a signal to ask questions.
Why buy from Trinatech
- On the shelf in the Nairobi CBD, not on back order.
- Countrywide courier, whether the printer is in Eldoret, Kisumu or Mombasa.
- M-Pesa and bank transfer both accepted, invoice supplied on request.
- WhatsApp us the model number, or walk in at The One Mall, River Road.
Getting the most from this cartridge
- Fit it as soon as you open the foil. These are small cartridges and the nozzles dry quickly once exposed.
- Peel the protective tape off cleanly and avoid touching the gold contact strip.
- At 120 pages this is a low-volume cartridge by design. If you are printing more than a ream a month, HP 122XL will cost you less per page.
- Do not shake it or attempt a refill. The printhead is built into the cartridge, and a failed refill usually ends with ink inside the carriage.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a bigger version? Yes, HP 122XL fits the same printers and prints considerably more per cartridge.
- Do I need the tri-colour as well? Only for colour work, though most of these models want both cartridges seated to print anything.
- How quickly can I get it? Same day within Nairobi, next working day to most towns.
- Will you take it back if it is wrong? Yes, sealed and unused.
- Will it fit a DeskJet 1050A, 2050A or 3050A? Very likely, but those exact variants are not named in HP's own list, so check with us first rather than risk a return.
