Description
The HP 121 black ink cartridge is the genuine Original HP replacement, part number CC640HE, for older HP DeskJet, PhotoSmart and ENVY all-in-ones. It is aimed at the small office still running a reliable machine from that generation, where the printer works fine and only the ink has run out. Pigment-based black ink means text holds up to handling, stamping and filing.

Getting the most from this cartridge
- Leave the cartridge in its sealed foil until the moment you fit it, as pigment ink starts to dry once air reaches the nozzles.
- Do not touch the copper contacts or the nozzle plate when installing; skin oil is the most common cause of a cartridge that reads as empty straight out of the box.
- The 200-page figure assumes 5% coverage. Dense reports, tables with heavy rules and anything with a logo block will use ink faster.
- Print at least a page a week. Cartridges left idle in a dormant printer clog far sooner than ones in regular use.

- Is there a higher-yield version? Yes, HP 121XL fits the same printers and prints more pages per cartridge.
- Do I need the colour cartridge too? Only if you print in colour, but most of these machines will not start a job unless both cartridges are seated.
- How fast is delivery? Same day within Nairobi, next working day to most other towns.
- What if it does not work in my printer? Return it sealed and unused and we will exchange it or refund you.
- Why does my printer say the cartridge is low when it is new? Reseat it and clean the contacts with a dry cloth first, then run the printer's cartridge check.
