HP 117A Black Original Laserjet Toner Cartridge
KSh 7,500
Description
The HP 117A black toner cartridge is the genuine Original HP replacement, part number W2070A, for HP's compact Color Laser 150 and MFP 178 series. These are the entry-level colour lasers that put colour documents within reach of a small office without the running costs of a larger machine. Black is the cartridge that empties first on almost every colour laser, so it is the one worth keeping a spare of.

Genuine or compatible?
Genuine, Original HP, sealed box. Not a refill and not our Royal house brand, which is always sold as Royal. Colour lasers are less forgiving of poor toner than mono machines, because all four cartridges have to lay down consistently for colours to come out right. A cheap black that fuses differently from the colours around it shows up immediately on a printed page. Ask us for an honest comparison if price is the deciding factor.
Why buy from Trinatech
- Stocked in the Nairobi CBD, available over the counter.
- Courier countrywide, from the lakeside towns through to the coast.
- M-Pesa and bank transfer both accepted, invoiced for business customers.
- Order on WhatsApp, or come to The One Mall on River Road.
Getting the most from this cartridge
- Rock the cartridge gently before installing to spread the toner, and avoid touching the green drum surface.
- Keep spare cartridges boxed, upright and out of direct sunlight. Light degrades the drum coating.
- Black runs out fastest on a colour laser because most office printing is text. Stocking the black separately from the colour set usually costs less than buying full sets.
- 1,000 pages assumes 5% coverage. Colour-heavy documents will still consume black for text and shadows, so the figure drops in mixed work.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there a higher-yield version? HP sells 117A as a standard-yield cartridge for this series. If you print heavily, ask us what higher-capacity options exist for your exact model.
- Do I need the colours too? Yes for colour printing. The matching HP 117A cyan, magenta and yellow are sold separately.
- How soon can I get it? Same day within Nairobi, next working day upcountry.
- Can I return it? Yes, sealed and unused.
- Will HP 116A fit instead? No. The 116A is for a different HP Color Laser range despite the similar printers. Confirm your model with us first.
