Genuine or compatible?
This is a 100% genuine, Original Epson ribbon cartridge. Genuine Epson ribbons are seamlessly welded to prevent the fabric from fraying and jamming the delicate printhead. If you are operating a busy dispatch department on a strict budget, we also stock a Royal compatible cartridge for these models. The Royal version fits exactly the same and is highly cost-effective for continuous daily printing.

Getting the most from this cartridge
- Always tighten the ribbon by turning the small tension knob before you drop it into the printer. This prevents the fabric from snagging on the printhead mask during the first pass. When the text starts getting faint, do not attempt to re-ink the ribbon manually with generic liquid ink, as this will instantly destroy the microscopic pins in your printer's head.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there an XL or high-yield alternative? The 5-million character yield is the maximum capacity available for the LQ-590 series.
- Do I need other colours to print? No, this is a dedicated black ribbon for monochrome document printing.
- What is the delivery time? We offer same-day delivery in Nairobi CBD, and next-day dispatch countrywide.
- What is your warranty or returns policy? We honour the standard Epson warranty for factory-sealed, genuine items.
- Why is the print quality suddenly light? You may have reached the 5-million character limit, and the ink is depleted.
